हिमाचल प्रदेश के ग्रामीण एवं शहरी इलाकों में रहने वाले लोग खोरी के बारे में बख़ूबी जानते है। खोरी, हिमाचल प्रदेश की एक ऐसी परंपरा जिसके तहत कुछ खास व्यक्ति (जिनके पास कुदरती शक्ति होती है) वहाँ खोए हुए किसी भी तरह की जीवित व मृत वस्तु अथवा व्यक्ति के बारे में पता लगा सकते हैं।
हिमालय के बीच बसे गाँव, कस्बे और शहरों के कुछ इलाकों में रहने वाले लोग अभी भी इस परंपरा पर आँख बंद करके विश्वास करते हैं।
निर्मात्री आल्या हसन को जब इस फ़िल्म खोरी के बारे मे बताया गया तो इस प्रथा के बारे में जानने की उनकी इच्छा और प्रबल हुई और खोरी प्रथा पर शोध करने के पश्चात खोरी के लेखक सुज़ाद इक़बाल खान को ही निर्देशन का जिम्मा भी दिया गया।
“गैंग ऑफ वासेपुर” फेम संजय सिंह एवं सत्यकाम आनंद इस फ़िल्म के मुख्य अभिनेता हैं वही डॉली चावला ने इस फ़िल्म में बतौर मुख्य अभिनेत्री काम किया है। अब जब यह फ़िल्म बनकर पूरी तरह तैयार है, फ़िल्म की पहली पोस्टर को देखकर यह अंदाजा लगाया जा सकता है कि यह फ़िल्म बाँकी फिल्मों से कहीं अलग है जिसे देखना तो बनता है। इस फ़िल्म के सह-निर्माता मो. रिज़वान हैं एवं इस फ़िल्म का निर्माण अफ्लुएंस इंटरटेनमेंट के बैनर तले हुआ है।
